I wasn’t someone who grew up wanting to be a social worker, if I am being honest my knowledge about the profession was virtually non-existent before I went to university. In some ways I very much fell into the profession and over the last seven years, I have been asked on countless occasions ‘why do I want to be a social worker’.

Some might say I grow up living a sheltered life, fairly ‘normal’ family, growing up with both parents and my younger sister. When I was growing up I always knew I wanted to work with children, but never really thought about being a social worker, because to be honest I didn’t really know they existed – so I decided to work in a day nursery when I left College.

North East Lincolnshire Council’s Trading Standards team have seized 31,120 illicit cigarettes and 14.3kg of illicit tobacco with a street value of £7.658.50 in a large scale operation against illegal tobacco.
