Bus passengers thanked for custom

Ridership award

Phone 'n' Ride users rewarded.

A COUPLE from Grimsby have been presented with a ‘ridership’ award for their continued support and use of North East Lincolnshire’s Phone ‘n’ Ride bus service.

William Farmery and his wife Barbara have been regular passengers since the service launched in 2005, making more than 1,490 journeys on the familiar little red buses.

They use the bus to get to shops and restaurants throughout North East Lincolnshire and are delighted with the service they receive.

William Farmery said: “After many years enjoying journeys with Phone ‘n’ Ride in the Grimsby area, I would like to say a big thank you to the team, drivers and call centre staff for the wonderful service they provide.”

Councillor Peter Wheatley, portfolio holder for regeneration and environment, said: "Phone ‘n’ Ride has provided so many journeys for Bill, Barbara and family. Our buses continue to provide a service for passengers who may not have a regular or convenient bus service near to where they live.”

Anyone of any age can register. William’s son Steven made use of the service when he fractured his leg, using the Phone ‘n’ Ride buses to get around the area.
