The Waste Management Plan for England is a high level document which is non-site specific.
It provides an analysis of the current waste management situation for England, and evaluates how it will support implementation of the objectives and provision of the revised Waste Framework Directive (Directive 2008/98/EC).
National planning policy on waste is currently set out in Planning Policy Statement 10: Planning for Sustainable Waste Management. This policy is being updated and has been subject to public consultation, once finalised the updated policy will replace Planning Policy Statement 10 as the national planning policy for sustainable waste management.
