Good design is recognised world wide as being an important criteria in determining the quality of the place in which we live. The Urban Design Compendium (UDC) aims to help all those involved in the delivery of places, providing guidance and examples of good practice from around the world. The UDC consists of two parts:
- UDC1 Urban design principles - the key aspect of urban design and how these can be applied to create places where people want to live, work and socialises; and,
- UCC2 Delivering quality places - practical guidance on the steps that can be taken and barriers that need to be overcome during policy and project development to improve the quality of place delivered.
